Both the actors were active around the same period. And 18th July, it will be six years since Rajesh Khanna passed away. We missed Sanjeev Kumar’s birthday last week, he would have been 80 years on 9th July. The two actors I was thinking of combining are Rajesh Khanna and Sanjeev Kumar.

So here is a song for the occasion.īut I think, we can have a song featuring one in a movie in which the other is the main lead. I just realised that 18th July is the anniversary of another favourite. In the euphoria to celebrate the blogs 10th anniversary with an appropriate post last week I missed out on a few anniversaries, occasions for which I always try and send a special song. Tu to baithhi rahi pyaasi ki pyaasi goriye O tere hothhaan nu haase jaawaan main aenĪrrey chhod de jawaani mein udaasi goriye Song- O tere athhroo chun lawaan main (Shehzaada)(1972) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-R D Burman Lyrics are by Rajinder Krishan and music is composed by R.D. Video of this song seems to be unavailable as of now and only the audio is available. Let us now enjoy today’s song sung by Mohd Rafi for Rajesh Khanna in this movie ‘Shaahzaadaa-1972’. We will bring them here in future posts and enjoy them with a song. Two such movies immediately come to my mind, and incidentally these two are also Kaka movies, ‘Do Raaste-1969’ and ‘Mehboob Ki Mehendi-1971’ where the music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. And that made me think if there are movies where Rafi Saab had sung majority of songs and Kishore Kumar had sung only one song.

In both the movies the other song by a male singer is by Kishore Kumar only. In the previous post we saw one such instance with a song from ‘Phir Wohi Raat-1980’. I am looking for such instances where Rafi Saab had sung only one song in a movie where music is composed by R.D. And that is the subject matter of this series. Rimjhim rimjhim dekho baras rahi hai raatįrom the above list we can see that Lata and Kishore Kumar had two duets and one solo song each, and Mohd Rafi sang only one song in this movie. Na jaiyyo, chhod ken aa jaiyyo meri raani The list of the songs in this movie is as given below and songs posted earlier on the blog have been mentioned with their respective date of posting. Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi and Kishore Kumar had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Today’s song is from the ‘1972’ movie ‘Shaahzaadaa’. We move further to the next post in this series. Harish gave him a piece of his mind and declined the offer. This article is written by Avinash Scrapwala, a fellow enthusiast of Hindi movie music and a regular contributor to this blog. A few months later Manoj feeling guilty sent a offer to act in Harish Shah's future film. Manoj had bought the tickets and now selling it at a bad rate. Manoj did not want competition from a Rajesh Khanna film. Upon further asking he found out it was Manoj Kumar who was playing this game. They told Harish they were paid to do this. Harish asked them why they were doing this to sabotage his film. This way the collections of Mere Jeevan Saathi would be low. On the weekend Mere Jeevan Saathi released ,Harish went to visit Apsara theatre and saw the entire tickets were bought and now being sold for a cheaper low rate of rupees 25 by the black ticket scalper boys. The distributor agreed to give Harish the Bombay theatre Apsara to release his film provided he not release the film with Shor and release it the following week. The distributor pleaded with Harish to delay his film Mere Jeevan Sathi and not release it with Shor. Producer Harish Shah thrashed Manoj Kumar in his book.
